Sandra works as a painter does. The architectural reality is her canvas, not an achievement at this initial point but only the beginning. Swiftly follows the need to apply pencils, paints and brushes to this stark canvas through her own inimitable intellect, gestures and imagination... Behind her computer, she gives birth to her artworks, investing the empty spaces with utopias and reflections, destroying actual geometry to build new virtual symmetries, increasing ad libretto the curves toward the infinite, reworking the real to foster the beauty and elegance of her dreams. An award winning and published photographer, Sandra Sachsenhauser is a German national, lived 12 Years in Dubai and now based in Lower Bavaria, Germany. She specializes in abstract architecture, B&W, and fine art photography.
From Influx:
"The Fog" by Sandra Sachsenhauser is a hauntingly beautiful depiction of a cityscape shrouded in mist, presented on Hahnemühle William Turner handmade paper. This 60 x 50 cm piece transforms an architectural view into a surreal vision, where the towering skyscrapers emerge like phantoms from the dense fog. Sachsenhauser’s unique approach to photography echoes a painterly style; she distorts and reinterprets the rigid geometry of buildings, imbuing them with a sense of ethereal mystery. The blurred, elongated lines lend a dreamlike quality, inviting viewers to explore the boundary between reality and abstraction. Having spent over a decade in Dubai, Sandra captures the beauty of urban landscapes with an artist’s imagination, challenging traditional perceptions of architecture and pushing them toward an elegant, otherworldly narrative.
